Why This Place?

Here's an interesting chart showing what people look for in a neighbourhood. At our most recent English Club we discussed "Why do you live where you live?" Everyone had a different reason!

"Purification" from COVID?

 According to Wikipedia:

The Roman month Februarius was named after the Latin term februum, which means purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 (full moon) in the old lunar Roman calendar.

It might be too much to hope for purification from COVID 19, so we'll continue meeting via ZOOM until further notice. The ZOOM link is below. See you on these dates in February!

Ake-Ome!

Let's hope 2021 is better than 2020 was! One way to improve it is to come to English Club! See you next year!

What Does It Do?

At a recent English Club, we discussed the actions and functions of common devices, although this may not be a common device found in every home. Can you fill in the blanks here?

A Fond Farewell to 2020?

On a year when people really would like to "forget the year" I imagine the traditional "bonenkai" will be restricted. But, English Club isn't restricted! We're still meeting in person, distancing, with masks and ventilation. You are most welcome to join us in December!

Advertising Adjectives

At a recent English Club, we talked about the best way to describe products in order to attract people to try them. Adjectives to use in advertising. When describing natto, it is probably best not to mention the aroma at all.
