Augustus and August

Luke 2:1  In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 
The account of the birth of Christ in the Bible begins with that sentence. But, if Augustus Caesar is associated with August, then why is Christmas celebrated in December? 
No, there was no September Caesar, in case you were wondering. Just Julius for July and Augustus for August.



English Club will meet just once in August. It's an unusual August this year, but I hope you can join us!
